Clare is an experienced finance professional, qualifying as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in London in 1988. Having worked in corporate treasury, capital markets and the life industry she joined CDC Solutions as CFO (and the first finance professional) in 1999.
In CDC she set up all the company’s financial and administrative procedures overseeing and managing a growth in personnel from 15 to over 70 in less than two years. She also was responsible for all financial and administrative set-up and management of CDC's world-wide operations including the USA. The strong financial control environment that she introduced, coupled with CDC’s innovative product suite, enabled the company to benefit from £11 million venture capital funding, before being sold to Liquent, Inc (now part of the Thomson Group).
In 2002, she joined David Cornwell in setting up PleaseTech (formerly Kcentrix Software). As CFO of PleaseTech, Clare takes responsibility for all finance, legal and administrative issues, ensuring that the company has the organisational platform and financial strength to grow the business. She believes that organizations of all sizes will benefit hugely from using PleaseTech's products to streamline document processes.
Clare is a graduate of Bristol University, with first class honours in mathematics and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
