technical overview
PleaseErase is entirely web based and compatible with all major web browsing platforms. Users (or a system through the web services apis) can simply upload a document and, on the same screen, select whether they wish to have a simple clean or an advanced clean.
Simple clean cleans all Word comments, track changes and hidden text and clears all meta data optionally setting values in meta data in accordance with corporate standards. The document is immediately returned to the user.
Advanced clean allows the user to view whether the document has comments, tracked changes and hidden text and to view the values of the meta data fields. Then can selectively set them, clean them or leave them untouched.
PleaseReview is a server-based application. This has several advantages:

it does not require MS Office to be installed on users’ workstations; |

it is compatible with documents created in all recent versions of Office, and; |

it does not require complicated Office macros and plug-ins. |
Optionally corporate policies can be set through profiles which will automatically set meta data fields standard corporate values.
The server is built around documented APIs and fully supports web services enabling it to be integrated with other applications. The web user interface is controlled by CSS so can be restyled to match a corporate look and feel.
