why PleaseReview?
The word 'chaos' is usually the adjective most closely identified with the document review process. This business critical process consumes large amounts of time from expensive people yet is often identified as the 'roadblock' in document production.
The simple fact is that producing a qualify document is a collaborative process which takes time and investment.
Emailing documents around simply causes the chaos in the first place. This is compounded with existing mark-up tools, such as MS Word 'track changes' or the PDF 'mark-up' facility, which require a degree of skill & training, a considerable amount of work from the Author to consolidate proposed changes, and are inefficient in that they do not allow Reviewers to see each other's comments - leading to duplicated effort. Collaboration tools allow discussion threads but work at a 'document' level and are therefore not satisfactory for detailed review.
PleaseReview overcomes all these limitations and allows the collaborative review of MS Word documents, PowerPoint slides, PDF documents, images and image collections. Other documents formats, typically an integral part of the document set, are reviewed at a document level with the same level of functionality. No-one needs to be a track changes or PDF 'whizz' to use PleaseReview.
By providing a truly collaborative review environment, in which everyone can simultaneously comment on the same copy of the document, the document quality can be improved and the number of review cycles can be dramatically reduced.
As an predominantly browser based solution, PleaseReview removes all version compatibility issues and plug-in installation and management issues. Reviewers need nothing other than a browser (except for PDF review and offline client review).
